PetroChina Guangzhou Training Center was established in 1981. It is one of the key training bases belonging to CNPC(China national petroleum corporation).

The center covers an area of about 45, ooo square meters. It has a collection of books totaling 140,000 and has more than 300 kinds of periodicals. There are modern teaching and learning facilities like use-friendly language labs, user-friendly computer network labs, and state-of-the-art gymnasium and multi-media classrooms.

The center currently has 146 staff members, of whom 70 are professional teachers. The teaching team, characterized by sound age differences, reasonable structure and different academic levels, includes 6 professors (one enjoys “Expert Subsidy” granted by the State Council), 21associate professors and 41 lecturers. In addition, during the 25 years of education and training practice, the center has established a network of 70-plus part-timers composed of PhD advisers, professors, scholars, government officials and senior executives from large-scale enterprises.

The center possesses a variety of training practice bases in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. To meet the demands of different training groups, we could provide all kinds of special training programs with different purposes.

Under the leadership and the support of CNPC, the training conditions of the center have improved a great deal. In 2004, we have successfully completed the first stage of basic construction and greatly improved the living and learning conditions of the trainees. We also have decent entertainment facilities such as the stadium, the basketball courts and dancing hall. Thanks to the delightful greenery on the campus, the center was awarded the title “garden-like company” by the Guangzhou municipal government. The staff members of the center are firmly committed to the cause of the oil industry. The center exerts continuous efforts on improving the overall quality of the teaching team and enhancing the training qualities in an attempt to build the center into a first-class education and training center of CNPC in Southern China and better serve its strategic goal of globalization.

The center has undertaken dozens of training programs in the past 20 years ever since its founding. These courses on English, foreign trade, management, computer, etc. have offered systematic training for nearly 30,000 trainees, making great contributions to the development of petrochemical industry of China.

Job Description: A full time teacher will teach a maximum of 20 periods per week.

Students: adult trainees from different oil fields across China aged between 25 to 45.

Courses: business English, Oral Communication Courses, English composition, etc.

The full-time teacher has a minimum of 12 teaching hours per week.
